26 - someone needs a haircut

as much as i love going on vacation, nothing beats the feeling of coming home. one of my favorite parts of coming home after being on vacation, or even just after not visiting for a while, is seeing my dog's reaction. i can't even remember a time where i've been as excited as that dog - he runs around the house jumping around and goes absolutely crazy. its awesome.

25 -we be strokin'

i had to get this. Strokin' is one of the most hilarious songs ever. if you haven't heard it you can check it out here - listen to it all the way through. Whenever I hear it I cant help but smile and think of my uncle, which i realize sounds........extremely awkward and weird. but he did his own version of the song in a mullet wig and full 80's getup for his 50th birthday party and it was one of the funniest things i've ever witnessed.

24

dont see something like that everyday

24 - south of the border

south of the border is one of those cheesy places i can't help but love. every time i go, i buy one of those triangle puzzles with the pegs. 10 years later im finally getting close to solving it.

23 - more florida

apparently cocoa beach is the capital of small waves. they weren't kidding when they said small. but there were still a lot of people trying to surf. it was fun to watch.

22 - don't feed the pelicans

this looks so much better in full size when you can see the sign in the background and all the details of the bird.

21

i totally love these. i want them all over my yard.....eventually. whenever i get one.

20 - hellooo florida

I went to cocoa beach for a week with my family. we've gone somewhere every year since i remember and i look froward to it all year. I appreciated it so much more this year - probably because this was my first summer where i didn't have a "break" from school or anything. The water was just as cool as ocean city which was suprising, must've been all the storms or something. it was still nice, though.

Today will forever be known as the day i was in the car forevverrr. about 9 hours. just going from timonium to fells to waldorf to nissan pavilion round 1 (getting lost then going all the way to kings dominion) then back to nissan pavilion for reals then back to timonium. we missed the opening act of taylor swift who we really wanted to see. we woulda made it if there wasnt traffic getting into the pavilion. we heard her. we heard her in the parking lot and we heard her as we were running up the stairs to the hill to the lawn seats. as soon as we got to the top though the lights came on and she was gone. it was like movie timing. in good news, i actually kinda like rascal flatts now.

14 - I'm all about natural light

this is 1 of 2 sconces I have in my room and lovve. 1st because, i'm totally a scent person and love candles and lotion. 2nd cause, as the title says, im all about the natural lighting.

One of the only things i remember from 10th grade in highschool is from my photography teacher who taught us how to recognize and appreciate natural lighting -especially during sunrise and sunset. and she didn't mean take pics of the sky at sunset, that's too easy (whoops, think ive done that in multiple posts) but what she meant it pay attention to how the light hits objects and makes them glow. so to this day i totally see that. and a lot of times ill say it out loud "hey look that the light on the trees thats so pretty." and most of the time i get quizzical looks or the "your weird" or "what??" reply.....except amanda, she's totally comming around and starting to appreciate it too :)

anyhow flames are another awesome natural lighting source and i totally heart this decor in my room.

so this pic is for a fellow social butterfly - less then 2 weeks till you can drink one of these!!

So I was in Waldorf this weekend because my cousin is gonna be a great dad soon. So the babyshower for little bean (they dont wanna know the sex) was Sunday. It's always awesome to hang out with my growing family. Here's pics the newest members...the first pic is of Bryce and the 2nd is of Zoey - our little Buddah covered with hair :) I keep calling them my cousins but really they're my cousins kids. Whats the technical name for that?

I went home too good old chuck county this weekend. This pic was taken on 301 on the way to LaPlata...while its not that interesting of a shot it def has meaning to me. I remember when waldorf used to have fields like this and a bunch woods and a lot of land. now its built up, overcrowded, and im pretty sure its on the path to ghettoness. It was great when I was growing up so i know im lucky...but at the same time its kinda sad to go back now and imagine what its gonna become.

Day 10

so i went to the Brad Paisley concert and it was amazing because 1. He has a variety of fast and slow songs that are great. 2. He knows how to preform live. 3. we got free upgrades from lawn seats to the pavilion. 4. he's cute and energetic so he's def fun to watch :) He's so entertaining in concert and sounds great - if you like any of his songs I'd def recommend checking out his concert.

the pic above is of him preforming celebrity. He did a mock version of guitar hero - it looked exactly like he was playing the game. I thought it was pretty smart and cool that he did that to connect with his younger fan base. At one point it showed video of a guy singing a long to the song in a tent like he was playing rock band - before the show someone approached us and asked if we wanted to play that so im not sure if it was real footage of a fan playing before hand or not....if it was, then thats def way smart.

Day 9

soo this is my office building and i heart it. you don't really get it in all it's greatness here but the clouds reflecting in the window caught my eye when i was walking in today so here ya are. the inside is super cool too.

Day 8 - Missed It

today i saw my first chipmunk ever! it's funny, they're pretty much "mice with cuter outfits" but they're still cute. I missed the shot though, im having a hard time with the depth of field on the point and shoot-i should probably check out the manual

1 week down - w00t!

went back to the reservoir today to show a new friend some places to hike. we were gonna go to rock state park, which is my favorite, but since the weather was sketchy we decided to just stay local. i need to vary my pics......already. a year is gonna be tough. i got a lot of pic ideas floating in my head i just have to find the time to do them. i'd like to get some b&w pics in here with my 35 mm - but its tough because i need to develop a bunch of film at the same time so i don't waste chemicals. so for now, we'll see how far i can stretch the point and shoot. i need to save for a digital slr like woah.

5-6 hellooo bmore

soo this weekend we worked the African American Heritage Festival Both of these pics are from Saturday - the bottom one was driving into town saturday morning - i was pretty out of it i dont even remember taking this pic. The above one was just a random snap shot of the festival. i did take a few pics on my phone friday but can't figure out how to download them from cellblock so these will have to do. I regret only taking a few sucky pics- there were actually a lot of cool things there that woulda made great photos but I kept forgetting to get my camera out. oh well.

Day 4

I hate to do the whole sunset thing 2 days in a row but I couldn't resist. I've been crazy busy all week so I decided to head over to the Loch Raven Reservoir and take it easy. It's only a 15 min drive from my apartment but it feels like another world and it has definitely become one of my favorite local places in the past 4 years - i used to come here during college to "study." Ill have to get out that way again one weekend and get some good pics of the cliff jumpers.

Day 3 - Got Lucky With This One

Day 2 - Shennanigans

Soo tonights photos are snapshots. but thats ok, because tonight needed to be documented. and a year from now i want to remember this craziness. Tonight, I went to my very first meetup - it was a happy hour at the avenue in whitemarsh. I met the guy shown above. He was like a real life ace ventura pet detective -no lie. his experessions, mannerisms, cant really tell from this pic but his looks -everything about him screamed over the top jim carey character. oh yea, and did i mention he's my neighbor and wants to play tennis? haha. he's a funny guy though, and i definitely met some interesting people. all in all id say it was a good evening.

Day 1

I recently furnished and decorated my balcony so I love relaxing out there every chance I get. When I got home this afternoon the weather wasn't great so I sat out there for a while in my ikea rocking chair, relaxing and listening to the rain.

Welcome!

So when I was browsing twitter today, I stumbled upon this blog 366 photography. It’s a project to document a year in one’s life through photography. I’ve heard of the idea before and always thought it was an awesome concept, but I don’t know something about his blog really inspired me to try it myself. So here I am

I love and miss photography so this will be a great way to get back in it and improve my skills. A year seems like such a long time and a big commitment though….wow, I really am starting to think I have commitment issues. But I regress, I’m just gonna focus on 1 day at a time and I’m excited to see what comes out of this!
